I am one of five finalists for the 2011 Danahy fiction prize
Smiling face. My story “The Hills Will Melt Like Wax” was one of the five runners up for the Danahy prize, run by the Tampa Review. They may still publish the story—if they do, it will be my first ever real magazine publication. I will know in a couple of weeks. Fingers crossed.
Many congratulations to the winner, Mark Krieger, and the other finalists.
Also: The Tampa Review has really impressed me throughout the process. In our conversations, they demonstrated how closely they had read, understood, and allowed themselves to be surprised by my story. It has been a lovely experience.
Best wishes to you all,
Daniel
